ABSTRACT
One of the basic elements of the geoinformatic system is the numeric map, which should be adapted to carry out with it help the implemented tasks. Compiling of map from the very beginning with taking into account all stages/levels of its designing, is very time consuming. The final product should be clear and legible, and should reflect the correctness of the contents of cartographic presentation of the map. At present, the increasing number of various software such as GIS (Geographic Information System) and its usage in the mapping process, one can observe different levels of the map quality. Inappropriate cartographic products, which are part of any geoinformation systems may actually lower their target functionality. In the conceptual stage of compiling the map for geoinformatic port security system, had been chosen another method of developing the map, consisting in a combination of several similar standards of navigational charts. This enabled the use the standardized methods of cartographic presentation and coding of objects. Also, it automatically reflects to the consistency with existing products, which are developed by existing standards. It should facilitate its subsequent implementation in the professional environment associated with the sea. In order to develop the map for geoinformatic port security system, an analysis of standards of electronic products such as ENC, IENC and DNC was carried out. Due to the nature of the map and the contents of its dedicated purpose, it should also present the extended information related to the land area, that is why further the VMap L2 was analyzed. Set of its geographic features were added. The final product presentation is in a prototype application for visualizing dedicated maps for geoinformatic port security system.
