ABSTRACT
The authors of the article present the possibility of application of terrestrial laser scanning technology in the area of architectural objects inventarization and also in industrial measurements. The use of the newest technological solutions by the company Scan-3D in their projects in many European countries is presented in a full technological path, including inventory works, coping with precision determination, registration and modeling of architectural details, highly complicated ornaments and facades of the analyzed buildings and structures. What is more, the aspects determining the end quality of the realized documentary works will be presented, and the aspects containing information about the methods of standardization used for such works, describing accurately the technological standards on quality and precision, and formal demands on such projects realization. The methodology of works and results of dynamic process analysis made on the basis of results achieved from finished projects realized with the use of terrestrial laser scanning technology in shipyards, ship bodies and water power station turbines measurements is also presented. The experience of the company in the mentioned projects allows to precisely describe the possibilities of implementation of this measurement tool for the needs of highly precise and accurate simulations of situations that have influence on the status of the analyzed objects. The presentation of the results is also focused on the need of coping with the technology of terrestrial laser scanning as with the tool on the way to a new possibility of its implementation in many other areas of industry. The possibility of application of this technology, especially its potential with regard to the amount, quality and accuracy of data collection are great and allows to develop methods of precise presentation of the deformation, changes and other analyzed situations that influence the surrounding 3D shapes and objects.
